November 6 – Elections

Written December 4th, 2012
Categories: Meetings, Public Speaking, Toastmasters International

Our Toastmaster Franni chose an “Elections” theme in support of our National Election Day. Franni kicked off the meeting by sharing her very first election, as one who grew up in the same town as the Thirty-Eighth President of the United States of America, Gerald Ford.

Our first speaker Mike shared his experience with lucid dreaming and encouraged us to explore our dreams. Second speaker Sandra provided us with tips on working with a translator to ensure your message doesn’t get lost in translation. Last speaker Vance enlightened us on the benefits of establishing a smooth change over when leaving a role.

In keeping with our theme, Table Topics Master Jacqueline asked participants to persuade the audience for their vote on topics like: why Election Day should be a holiday; why Christmas advertising should begin in October; why you are the Seahawk’s “12th Man”.

Thanks to all our speakers and participants for another fun filled evening.

We would like to recognize and give thanks to Bruce for organizing our Tales from the Hearth meeting on October 30th. Lastly, kudos to our webmaster extraordinaire Jacqueline for all her efforts in designing the West Seattle Toastmasters Club 832 website, which won the District 2 2011-2012 best Toastmaster club website. Congratulations!
